Advertising Specifications
Please follow these
requirements when submitting ad materials:
Prepare Your Ad:
-
We encourage you to send your ad in
.pdf file format. If possible, lay out your ad in Adobe
Photoshop. Make sure that you include all images and fonts (both
screen and printer) used in your ad. Also include a flattened
version saved as either .tiff or PS .eps format. If you are
using any other page layout program, convert files to either .pdf
or .eps format. Convert all images to CMYK for printing.
-
Please
do not use dcs images in
your ads; convert all dcs images in Photoshop to .tiff
or Photoshop .eps images.
-
PC
users: we can only accept .tif, .jpg, .pdf, and .eps files.
Save the final version of your ad in one of these formats. If
you need assistance, please contact Dwight.
-
If you are using Pagemaker or
InDesign, export ad files in .pdf format. Do
not down-sample your images to 72 dpi when you
export them.
-
All images used in ads must be at
least 300 dpi. Make sure to include all images and fonts with
your submission.
Additional
Color Ad Specs:
-
Color ads must be accompanied by a color-accurate proof
(a true continuous-tone proof.) We will accept an Iris proof, a
Digital Match print, a Rainbow proof, a Kodak approval or an
Agfa Sherpa proof. Color prints
from a desktop inkjet printer do not qualify as proper proofs
and cannot be accepted as true representations of color.
All proofs must be in CYMK
(4-color process) format.
-
Failure to supply one of the approved forms of color proof,
exonerates The Wool Street Journal from all color issues.
Remember that what you see on your screen is not necessarily how
your ad will appear on the printed magazine page.
Submit Your Ad:
-
Please make every effort to have your ad material to us as early
as possible.
-
You may e-mail your ads, making sure
to include all necessary files associated with your ad. Compress
ads as .sit or .zip before emailing. If you e-mail us a color
ad, we still require a color proof.
-
Email Us
your ad artwork. Be sure you
include your contact information (name of business, your name,
address, phone, email) and specify the issue in which you want
your ad to appear.
-
It is your responsibility to make
sure that the ad material is sent to us correctly, and that all
required documents are included in the proper format.
-
If you have any problems or
questions concerning your ad, please contact Dwight.
-
Send all non e-mailed ads via postal
mail to our address below.
